Health care in Pakistan

Health care in Pakistan: the management of the Ministry of Health. Like other South Asian countries, health and sanitation infrastructure is adequate in urban areas, but is generally poor in rural areas. About 19% of the population and 30% of those under the age of five are malnourished.

· Infant mortality rate 76.7/1000 persons

· Maternal mortality rate 350/100,000 live births

· Fertility rate 4.1%

· Contraceptive prĂ©valence rate 30%

· Births attended by skilled persons 20%

· Population growth rate 1.8

· Malarial parasite incidence 0.07%

· Incidence of tuberculosis 0.18%

Pakistan Association for Mental Health

Pakistan Association for Mental Health was founded in 1965 with Dr. S. convenership Haroon Ahmed. It 'was recorded in 1970 Voluntary Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961. It will run its executive committee and a team dedicated to mental health professionals.

PAMH is a non-profit, non-commercial organization for the public and create awareness of mental health, which is responsible for: (1) Develop a community-oriented (family involvement), cost-benefit (economic ), and culturally relevant (accept) a program for the treatment and aftercare of mentally ill patients, and (2) develop programs based on local needs in the field for the humanities: education, training, research and psycho-education.

Health Care System in Pakistan

Care providers in Pakistan can be classified into the following groups.

1) Doctors

To become a doctor MBBS, the applicant must fulfill the following criteria;

1. Pass an intermediate examination in Pre-Medical Sciences (a dozen years of study, ten schools, two in college) with at least more than 60-70% marks.

2. Enter "entrance exam" and they do

3. Take over five years of a medical college recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council

4. Pass four professional examinations organized by the University and place in a medical college and hospitals.

5. Licensed by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council

The Alternate Medical Services

  1. There are two popular misconceptions in Pakistan, even among highly skilled workers and some doctors and MBBS;
  2. Sexual problems, hepatitis A, B, C and can not be treated with medications, except Hakim.
  3. Homeopathy is very safe in chronic conditions, including kidney stones, arthritis, etc.
